  • Latest Updates from Nazarene Church

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and sound judgement.”

    2 Timothy 1:7

The pastor of The Village Church of the Nazarene is staying up-to-date with the progress of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

General Updates As of this post, guidelines issued by the Public Health Agency of Canada and Public Health Ontario or other agencies are having minimal impact on our normal operations and ministries.

Schedule Changes As of this post, no changes have been made to our normal services or ministry schedules. Sunday Bible Class is still scheduled for 9:45 a.m. and Worship Service at 11:00 a.m.

Action Steps The church has multiple hand sanitizers. According to the Public Health Agency of Canada washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is still the best way to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This is the preferred option, but when it is not available, alcohol-based hand sanitizers are a recommended alternative. We will encourage you to limit physical contact with others by not hugging, kissing or hand shaking. As with any normal flu season, follow these common sense guidelines for keeping yourself and others healthy:

    • Wash your hands regularly
    • Cough and sneeze into the bend of your elbow
    • Eat healthy foods and drink lots of fluids
    • Do not go to work, school, or church if you are sick

If you or a loved one is feeling ill, please follow the medical advice a medical professional and Telehealth Ontario.

Prayer Please join with our church family as we pray for those who are impacted by or confronting the virus – patients, families, healthcare workers, authorities, government leaders – and for God’s protection over all of us. If you or a loved one has been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak, please let us know so that we can pray for you and support you by appropriate means.

This congregation, in my opinion, is second to none for their caring and sharing struggle to follow the teachings of Christ. I’ve never had such a wonderful sense of belonging with people who have tolerance of we who try every day in a sinful world. Let’s let others know they are welcome, warts and all!
